The past week saw me excitedly trying out the new Holga 135 BC camera, which I'd named "Emo Nemo", after it's rather moody-looking photos. And I am still searching for fresh ways to shoot old familiar places...
As the Hungry Ghost Festival drew to a close, I visited my late parents and relatives at the temples, which provided some interesting photo opportunities too...
Check out some of the photos I took along the way...

I like #1-very creative:D
Love the composition for #4. The clouds and colours are beautiful. And that photo really made me happy.
#7- Is that the same teddy in your previous entry? HAHA the holey holey bear!?
#19,20,21- HA, your captions are damn cute.
#25-Love this!
#26-Looks like the little monk ling hun chu qiao(if you understand this) or something!
Nice one, emo nemo's owner!

And yup, that's Eddie the Teddy, aka Holey Bear! LOL
I was actually a bit spooked by the #26 effect when I first saw it myself! It really has that Ling Hun Chu Qiao feeling you mentioned! Haha!
Anyway, you can me Edric... :)

#1. Wah piang eh give me a fright and i thought "WHAT IS THAT" then i realised it was just a double exposure. ;_; cool though
#2. I love the quaint little carriage but then the bushes at the bottom right corner distract from the composition cause they prevent the tracks from disappearing cleanly into the edge. Pity.
#4. Idk if you consciously observed the rule of thirds, but your composition follows the rule, yet it still looks a little off. Colouring of the sky wins though.
#6 and #7. Cool idea, not-so-brilliant execution (looks cluttered); cool idea, great execution.
#12. Ooo handsome eh. No la but like I think it's a very good self portrait. Lighting's brilliant. Half of your face is in the light and half is in the shadow, yet on the other side of the picture, your arm is in the light but everything above it is in shadow - contrast is awesome.
#13 and #14. I really like these!!! Colouring is wicked
#20 and #21. B mode? Cool anyway.
#23 and #24 are very Chinese and kinda scary but great.
#26 is brilliant. Way to end a set.
Great set!! I love your work.

Most of the pics were taking within a second or two of being at the scene, so I gotta be fast and make the most of the conditions to get a pic. That's actually the fun and challenging bit about the Lomo style of photography, ain't it? ;)
I don't particular follow any rules (I prefer to break them!), although I do consciously try not to place my subjects smack centre. It all depends on the moment actually, but then again, I could always crop it afterward, if really necessary. :P

coolness.
you are talented in double exposures...you've proven that!how did you do the exposure in #1???
September 2 2008, 11:43:11 UTC 3 years ago
Re: coolness.
Thank you for your support! LOL#1 was done by first shooting an image of my hand blocking the sun (knowing my entire arm would be a silhouette), and then taking a second image of the railway tracks. Erm... that's all! LOL

Hahaha #23 and #24 are supposed to be the guardians of the spirits and souls, why do you find them scary? I thought those in #19, #20 and #21 would provide more of the creeps... LOL
